HARVEST FESTIVAL
This is a festival of thaksgiving for the yearly harvest, which is espacially popular in country villages. Churches are decorated with fruit and grain and parties are held in the village hall. The tradition of making a doll out of the last sheaves of corn still survives. The doll is kept at home during the winter and then burried in a field during the spring as a good omen. In america the festival of thanksgiving is called Thanksgiving and derives from the harvest that enable the first Énglish colonies to survive in their new country.
